BAYKO in PORTUGAL

I currently have no BAYKO documents from the Portuguese market...
...but I do have a little information.

Thanks to Chris Reeve for this information.

Chris has acquired an early post-war set #1 from Portugal which has the yellow green Windows, bright white and red Bricks and and almost crimson Canopy...
...of particular interest, is the colour of the bases which are almost translucent and an intriguing 'duck-egg green' colour.
The manual is the early version printed for set #0 to set #2 but without the UK price on the front or the internal price lists - as Chris says, "like the Sun Newspaper it goes straight to the models on page 3".
Clearly the set was intended for export and was acquired from Portugal, but I suppose we can't be absolutely certain that it was actually sold in Portugal...
...then again, we can't prove that it wasn't!!!
Seriously, when added to the information from the Lebanon, it seems clear that BAYKO was on the export trail immediately after the war - no mean achievement given the materials shortages at the time.

If you have any information on the Portuguese BAYKO market then I'd love to hear from you..
