This was the second style of Instruction Manual produced by Plimpton after the three versions of the original style, and follows shortly after the launch of their flagship BAYKO set - the “De-Luxe” set #6. |

Unfortunately there is no printer's code so I can't be more precise with the date, but this is the earlier version of this style of manual and was in circulation from 1935 until 1937-ish. |

There is, for the first time, a little corporate information, in the bottom line, on the back page : - |

► |
The Alwyn Studio Advertising Service were the publishers, i.e. they pulled the manual together for Plimpton. |
||
► |
The Northern Publishing Company Ltd. of Liverpool and London were the printers. |
||
The pages below which are shown against a pale blue background, [below] like this, are the pages which were changed in the later version - most relate to slight changes in set contents. |

These two pages, #70 and #71 show particularly famous BAYKO models,
the BAYKO Village and the Skyscraper, they were both shown at the British Industries Fair |

If you look at the bases used in the pictures for sets #1 to #5 you'll see that they aren't BAYKO bases at all, but wooden blocks, varnished and drilled to provide the necessary holes… |
…the evidence can be seen in the photographs. You can see the occasional hole drilled for a previous model as the “bases” were re-used… |
…thanks to Gary Birch's eagle eyes for noticing this!!! |
If you would like to see the manual hot of the press, as it were… |
