This Instruction Manual was produced by Plimpton for their basic range of BAYKO sets - sets #0 to #3, and was the bread and butter of BAYKO's heydays, with a total of 20 issues being printed. |
It is print coded September, 1951 and is virtually identical to its predecessor. The print code also tells us that 50,000 copies of this were printed. |
This sets #0 to #3 manual is post the launch of BAYKO set #3X and overlaps the August, 1951 issue of that manual. |
This manual was printed by J.H. Leeman Ltd., Leighton Printing Works, Neston, Wirral. It has a full colour cover, the rest of the 40 pages are printed in red, green and black on white, gloss paper. |
As well as being included in sets #0 to #3, manuals were also sold separately. However, the front cover [below] no longer specifies the price, which has been with the words “AND PLANS” inside the “INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETS 0 TO 3” ring. |
Page 1 [below] has been altered, the main difference being that the standard sets contents list now includes the BAYKO conversion set contents rather than a simple list of available, standard spare parts. |
Size - 250mm x 185mm = 9.8 x 7.3 inches. This is labelled as the 7th issue. Number of this version that were printed - 50,000. |
